Tis the season for Hollywood’s most glamorous night of the year – the Academy Awards. Every year I ask the same question leading up, “Why did I wait SO long to watch the Best Picture nominees?” And every year I’m faced with finding them online hours before the show starts (which 9 out of 10 times were incredibly unsuccessful). If you’ve been anywhere near Hollywood and Highland this year, you’d know that a few of the Best Picture nominees made their red carpet debuts at the TCL Chinese Theatre, which made me even more eager to watch all these soon-to-be award winning movies. We’re wrapping up all the ways you can catch up and binge the nominees before Sunday.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

This Quentin Tarantino blockbuster brought some of Hollywood’s biggest names to the big screen as they take a journey through a fictional Hollywood actor’s stunt double experience. With the most ways to watch, you can find Once Upon a Time in Hollywood on Amazon Prime, Vudu, Youtube, and Google Play Movies & TV.

The Irishman

Gangsters, a hit man, and three Hollywood icons make The Irishman one of 2019’s most popular movies. You can watch this nearly 4 hour movie on Netflix (perfect for a few visits to the fridge).

Marriage Story

Anyone asked will you tell you Marriage Story is a truly heartbreaking tear-jerker bringing to light all the highs and lows of divorce and marriage. Thankfully you can comfortably sob from the comfort of your own bed, since it’s only available on Netflix.

Little Women

While it may be a remake, Little Women was one of my favorite movies to see since in over a decade. With an exceptional cast and costuming, you truly feel like you’re in the mid-19th century living out each one of the characters’ lives. This movie’s only available in theaters, so grab some popcorn, Sour Patch Watermelons, sit back and enjoy.

Joker

Everything. Everything about The Joker will have you second guessing whether Joaquin Phoenix is actually the Joker owning the streets of Gotham City. Get ready to get deeper and darker with this film on Google Play Movies & TV, Vudu, and Youtube.

Ford vs. Ferrari

Vroom vroom – You’ll definitely be tempted to buy a classic Ford Mustang after watching this one. Starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon during the 1970s, Ford vs. Ferrari is available on Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, and Google Play Movies and TV. 

1917

This heart-wrenching tale of two soldiers in World War 1 gives Oscar-winning director, Sam Mendes, a spot on the Best Picture nominee list with 1917. This newly released film has already taken home Best Motion Picture – Drama at the Golden Globes, along with 8 other awards. Unfortunately, the only way to see it before Sunday is at your local theatre (or making a trip to the historical Chinese Theatre!).

JoJo Rabbit

While it might not hit everyone’s tastes, I appreciate a good satire – especially when it takes a fictional turn on a non-fiction historical event. Check out the trailer for yourself and head to the theaters to enjoy Jojo Rabbit.

Parasite

Already paving the way for foreign language films, Parasite is already making headlines and history, shattering every expectation this Korean drama had. Tune in on Google Play Movies & TV, Vudu, and Amazon Prime Video. Big theater-lover? You’re in luck. Select theaters still have showtimes.
