Despite damp and windy conditions in Lincoln, last weekend’s stop on the Wendy’s Tailgate Tour turned out to be one of the most exciting yet! In this Big 10 matchup, a crowd of over 89,000 college football fans turned out to see the Ohio State Buckeyes take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Ohio State entered the game with a solid 5-1 record, thanks to a nearly flawless offense this season. Nebraska had been less successful coming into this matchup, with a record of 3-3 (2-1 Big 10), but Cornhuskers turned out in droves to support their team and spur a change in momentum.
With excellent placement in the exact location reserved by ESPN College GameDay, and with Memorial Stadium serving as a backdrop, tailgaters visited the TCL eSports Lounge to play Madden NFL on our best gaming TV models, enter our exclusive on-site sweepstakes, and get a reprieve from the weather.
Cornhuskers who stopped by the Lounge were also treated to a very special guest. University of Nebraska legend, and College Football Hall of Famer, Tommie Frazier stopped by to greet fans and sign autographs. The former quarterback drew a crowd that wrapped around the TCL eSports Lounge and extended down the steps of the trailer. Frazier gladly stuck around to sign autographs for diehard Cornhuskers who patiently waited to meet the renowned MVP.
More than 1,200 tailgaters passed through the TCL eSports Lounge before the kickoff. When action got underway, the weather didn’t slow ninth-ranked Ohio State as they scored on their first eight possessions on their way to a 56-14 win over Nebraska.
Our next stop on the Tailgate Tour will take us to Mississippi this Saturday, Oct. 21, when LSU visits Ole Miss. If you're planning to attend, make sure you stop by!
