Latest industry recognition of TCL’s 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 and AI technology cements its place in global TV industry vanguard
New York, November 10, 2017 – TCL®, one of the world’s largest and America’s fastest-growing television brands, today announced it has been named a CES 2018 Innovation Awards Honoree for its 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6. The decision was made by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media that judges cutting edge consumer electronics products across 28 categories. Entries are evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function, user value, unique/novel features and how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace.
The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)™, the owner and producer of CES 2018. The Awards have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. Products chosen as CES Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most advanced technology products and services coming to the market.
“TCL is committed to fueling innovation in the television and consumer electronics markets and the 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 has raised the bar for home entertainment,” said Tomson Li, Chairman and CEO of TCL Corporation. “By integrating the latest QLED and AI technologies, TCL is bringing the consumer an unprecedented viewing experience. We are enormously proud to be named as a 2018 CES Innovation Award Honoree in recognition of TCL’s ongoing commitment to innovation.”
TCL unveiled its 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 in September, transforming the television entertainment experience through artificial intelligence (AI) and new content solutions. The 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 features Quantum Dot technology and an elegant design, and is amongst the thinnest supersized TVs in the world. At just 24.8 mm wide at the thinnest part of the body, the 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 is the thinnest TV over 80” that applies local dimming technology.
As TCL’s latest generation QLED TV, the 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 employs world-leading Quantum Dot display technology. Its color volume is 2.8 times higher than OLED (500 nits) and its color purity is 58.3 percent better than traditional TVs. At 60,000 hours, the color lifespan of the 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 is twice as long as a regular OLED TV. The X6 adopts a local dimming solution and its picture hits 1,200 nits in peak brightness, contributing to 600 backlit partitions. The contrast ratio (12 million:1) is increased by local dimming – supported by 1,200 LED backlights. The 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 supports Dolby Vision™ high-dynamic-range (HDR).
The 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 comes with a Harman Kardon sound system, offering 12-sound channels and 360° surround stereo sound with a 10” woofer. The volume generated by the 7.1.4 sound system reaches 40L. Both Dolby Atmos® 7.1.4 sound technology and DTS: X 7.1.4 technology are supported. Dolby Atmos delivers an immersive sound experience that directs audio all around the listener. Designed with rare earth magnets and equipped with silk dome loudspeakers, the 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 creates the most authentic theater sound achievable at home. In addition, the set has a “night mode” and is Bluetooth-enabled.
The metallic finish on TCL’s 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 gives it a touch of luxury. Also, the product provides the home designer with three different options – it can be mounted on a wall, set on a cabinet or placed on the floor.
CES 2018 Innovation Honoree products are featured on CES.tech/Innovation, which lists product categories, as well as each product name, manufacturer information, description, photo and URL.
TCL’s 85” QLED XESS Private Theatre X6 will be displayed at CES 2018, which runs January 9-12, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
