Donation to be celebrated at “Sports Day” at Ronald McDonald House-Oak Street with Ryan Suter from the Wild, Kyle Rudolph from the Vikings, Josh Okogie from the Timberwolves and Justin Morneau from the Twins

September 18, 2018 — TCL, America’s fastest-growing TV brand, will donate 77 high-end TVs to Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest (RMHC-UM) at a major league-themed “donation celebration” at 2pm on Tuesday, September 18, 2018.  The TVs, which will be distributed to RMHC-UM’s four Twin Cities locations, will enable families facing a child’s health crisis to relax and recharge after a long day at their child’s bedside.

TCL’s generous donation will be celebrated by representatives from four of Minnesota’s professional sports franchises:

  • Former NHL All-Star & current Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter and his wife, RMHC-UM Board member Becky Suter
  • Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl tight end & Vikings’ NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year award nominee, Kyle Rudolph
  • Minnesota Timberwolves first-round draft pick, Josh Okogie
  • Former MLB All-Star, Silver Slugger award winner & current Special Assistant to the GM of the Minnesota Twins, Justin Morneau

According to RMHC-UM President and CEO Jill Evenocheck, “Every year, the Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities supports more than 5,000 families dealing with a child’s serious illness, injury or disability.  Our four locations feature both private rooms and comfortable lounges and TCL’s remarkable donation will give families a chance to take a break and cheer on their favorite teams, stream movies and shows and play games with family and friends.”

The donation will include TCL’s premium picture 5-series, featuring superior 4K UHD picture quality with Dolby Vision HDR, and the TCL 4-series, delivering stunning Ultra HD picture quality with four times the resolution of Full HD.  Both models house the award-winning Roku TV smart platform, offering the most streaming content for countless entertainment options - more than 5,000 streaming channels providing access to 500,000+ movies and TV episodes.

“TCL is honored to work with the Ronald McDonald House and support their mission to create programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and families when their little ones become ill. While we deliver premium entertainment through our TVs in millions of homes across the country, nothing is as special as bringing joy to the kids who will be experiencing our TVs in the Ronald McDonald Houses here in the Twin Cities,” said Chris Larson, Senior Vice President, TCL. “Since 2014, the leaders at TCL North America committed to creating a successful business that our employees can feel good about. Through our TCL Cares initiative, we give to the communities we serve and apply the same energy that created America’s Fastest-Growing Television Brand into helping others.”
